The vision of its founders, Georgios Vandoros and Gerasimos Vandoros, is to offer more than just a meal. To create a space where flavours, history and Kefalonian hospitality come together to form a complete and unique experience for the guest.

The name of our restaurant is inspired by a unique local tradition. According to historical accounts and local lore, Dutch seafarers and pirates bearing the surname Vanderose arrived in Kefalonia, leaving their mark on the island’s cultural identity. Over time, the name evolved into the well-known Kefalonian version ‘Vandoros’, which remains, to this day, an integral part of local history.
Van De Rossa, therefore, draws inspiration from this maritime heritage and brings it into the present day through a space of refined aesthetics, where authenticity meets contemporary hospitality.

Our restaurant’s philosophy is based on the utmost respect for the finest ingredients and on showcasing the authentic flavours of Greece and the Mediterranean. The menu offers a creative take on Kefalonian and Greek cuisine, with an emphasis on fresh local produce, aromatic herbs from the Ionian Islands, high-quality meats and exquisite seafood!
Fresh fish and seafood, which we source daily from the waters of Kefalonia and the Ionian Sea, as well as selected varieties from other regions of Greece, ensuring top quality and authentic flavour in every dish we serve!
Your unique dining experience here is complemented by a carefully curated wine list, with a particular focus on the exceptional vineyards of Kefalonia and renowned local varieties, such as Robola from Kefalonia. At the same time, our wine cellar features selected labels from Greece’s leading wine-producing regions, offering the perfect pairings for each of our culinary creations!
